Junior Software Developer - ON-SITE

Location: West Point, NY - On Site

BluePath Labs is looking for a Junior Software Developer to support our team at the Army Cyber Institute (ACI) in West Point, NY. This is a critical and exciting opportunity at the intersection of advanced cyber research and the latest cloud technologies. This effort will have direct operational relevance. The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of successfully working in a collaborative environment. They will be working with leading Army researchers and programs and partners throughout the US Government. This position will start immediately.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as Junior Software Developer for the Intelligent Cyber-Systems and Analytics Research Lab and other labs within the organization.
• Analyze requirements to produce and recommend approach for the design of the software application.
• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software applications.
• Will work alone and as part of a team with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Build appropriate unit and integrations tests while developing software programs.
• Given data science research prototypes, you will help build desktop or web-based applications that have user-friendly interfaces and are ready for production.
• Provide ongoing support to existing software applications by providing updates and changes or fixes are requested by stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science (CS), software engineering (SE), computer engineering (CE), electrical engineering (EE), mathematics, information technology (IT), information systems (ISYS) or a related field.
• Primary proficiency in JavaScript and Python.
• Secondary proficiency in at least one of the following additional programming languages:
  • Java
  • C#
  • C
  • C++
  • Rust
• Experience in writing programs that interact with SQL databases and programs that communicate over TCP/UDP network protocols using sockets.
• Knowledge of computer and network security principles.
• Articulate, adaptable, and able to work with a variety of researchers and professionals in academia, government, and industry.
